about us

Prestel Elettronica was founded in 1957 for the production of projectors and, later, projection televisions.
In the early 1960s we began production of amplifiers and accessories for TV systems, achieving high standards of quality thanks, in particular, to the introduction of the innovative modular switchboard system for centralized units.
Prestel Elettronica’s recognition on an international level, however, came from the launch of our line of field measurers, which became extremely important tools for installers in many countries around the world.
The prestige and success achieved by the Prestel Elettronica brand, which guaranteed high-quality, reliable products, naturally led to further expansion of the range with the start of production of TV reception antennas.
The experience and professionalism we developed over time enabled Prestel Elettronica to design and construct antennas of high quality and performance together with strength and durability, qualities we still value and guarantee.
In this way, the antenna became Prestel Elettronica’s flagship product, and the production plan remains unchanged with the exception of the product’s recent adaptation to the DBT (digital broadcast television) system.
The production of electronics was gradually phased out and replaced by that of wiring systems, begun in 1987.
This was a relatively simple evolution given the high level of competence that our workers had gained from their experience in the field of television electronics.
The change in direction was made possible by regular product commissions from Aeritalia (now Alenia Aeronautica), who also provided the know-how necessary to start up an efficient wiring department.
Since then, a large proportion of the company's resources have been focused on developing and perfecting this important area of business.
All our staff have been trained through internal courses and/or by our client companies, most of which are in aeronautics, thus acquiring working methods with a reputation for top quality.
Prestel Elettronica produced hundreds of wiring systems for “Tornado”, “F104” and “AMX” aircraft, which enabled us to win other important aeronautic commissions (“MB339”).
In this way, the company became a qualified and certified supplier of our principal clients. As a result, Prestel Elettronica felt it necessary to bring our production procedures in line with the UNI EN ISO 9002:1994 standards, certification which we obtained in 1999 and updated to UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 in 2001.
Subsequently, Prestel Elettronica won another key commission for the production of wiring systems for civil and military helicopters, and started two different product lines.
In 2002, due to this extensive specialization in aeronautics, Prestel Elettronica also aligned our procedures with the prEN 9100:2001 draft standards created by an organization comprising the principal European (AECMA-EASE) and international aeronautic companies.
In 2006, Prestel Elettronica brought our Quality System into compliance with the UNI EN 9100:2005 aeronautical standards and were therefore listed in the IAQG (International Aerospace Quality Group) database of qualified suppliers to the world’s aeronautic companies.
Prestel Elettronica’s company philosophy has always been orientated towards achieving the highest possible quality and the complete satisfaction of our clients.
All of this is made possible by careful inspection of each production stage andhigh flexibility with regard to procedures and volumes of production.
Our qualified staff accurately perform the most complex operations on products requiring exclusively manual processing.
Our products are always tested and certified using the best technologies, a promise which is guaranteed by our high quality and professionalism.
